Product Description
New100N® water activity control agent is a proprietary blend of polyglycerols. It has a low alkalinity and is 100% soluble in any type of water, regardless of its salinity. It contains no aromatics or oils and will not produce a sheen.
Benefits
The environmentally friendly New100N additive minimizes wellbore shale hydration by optimizing water phase activity. It forms a semi-permeable membrane across shale surfaces to strengthen the wellbore and inhibit drilling fluid ionic exchange with formation clays. The shale stabilizer reduces coefficient of friction values, helping lower drilling costs by increasing ROP and reducing torque and drag in high angle wellbores.
Application
The New100N additive can be used to minimize shale hydration problems by decreasing the activity of the water phase and by attaching to shale surfaces. It can also increase the effectiveness of drilling performance enhancers in the system.
Treatment Recommendation
Product concentrations of 3-5% by volume are recommended for optimum results. Laboratory and field experience indicate that, for the purposes of enhanced lubricity, 3-4% by volume provides cost effective results; for inhibition, 4-5% by volume is recommended.

Handling and Storage
