Product Description
NewPHPA™ D shale inhibitor and rheology modifier is a high molecular weight, anionic polyacrylamide designed primarily to provide shale stability and viscosity in water-based drilling fluids. The dry NewPHPA D powder disperses rapidly without balling or fish eyes.
Benefits
Shale Inhibition: coats drill cuttings and allows for their removal by the solids control equipment before becoming dispersed in the active drilling fluid system
Viscosity: aids in hole cleaning
Flocculation: enhances the removal of drill solids
Lubricity: enhances performance and reduces torque and drag
Application
NewPHPA D shale inhibitor and rheology modifier can be used in freshwater, seawater and sodium or potassium chloride brines, and is very effective in sweeps to aid in hole cleaning.
Treatment Recommendation
For shale inhibition, NewPHPA D polymer is used in concentrations of 0.25-1.0 lb/bbl. For viscosity, it is used in concentrations of 0.5-1 lb/bbl. The dry powder should be added slowly through the hopper.

Handling and Storage
Keep this material dry because NewPHPA D polymer is extremely slippery when wet. Use appropriate hygiene, clothing and personal protective equipment suitable for work being done. Review the SDS thoroughly before using this product.
Packaging
NewPHPA D shale inhibitor and rheology modifier is available in 50-pound (22.7-kilogram) multi-walled bags.
