Supporting Drilling Operations Across the Permian Basin with Next-Generation Liquid Mud Plant
Newpark is excited to announce that our brand-new liquid mud plant (LMP) in Monahans, Texas, is now fully operational and ready to support drilling operations across the Permian Basin and beyond. Designed to enhance service reliability, responsiveness, and operational efficiency, this state-of-the-art facility strengthens Newpark’s ability to deliver high-performance drilling fluid solutions when and where our customers need them most.
Located across eight acres within 0.3 miles from our original Monahans facility, this groundbreaking investment features a high-capacity liquid mud plant with a 12,500 bbl total capacity to support continuous drilling, a bulk barite plant with 2,500 tons of storage capacity and convenient local rail spur access, as well as an onsite laboratory and logistics hub that supports quality assurance, quality control, fluid testing, and research and development efforts.
Built for speed, scale, and reliability, the facility can produce up to 1,000 barrels of mud in as little as four to six hours. Simultaneous oil-based mud (OBM), water-based mud (WBM), and bulk barite mixing capabilities help reduce bottlenecks and improve operational responsiveness for our customers across the region.
This initiative reinforces Newpark’s commitment to helping operators improve efficiency, maintain quality fluid performance, and keep drilling operations on schedule while supporting continued growth throughout the Permian Basin.
